Definition of the word Gnosis
Gnosis is the ancient Greek word for knowledge. While the common
literal translation for this word is "knowledge", it's meaning is
closer to "insight or direct experience".
Gnosis is not another belief or dogma, but rather implies direct
experience through inner development.
Gnosticism encourages tolerance and understanding, to transcend
selfishness and egoism; to respect the freedom and dignity of other
beings. Nonetheless, it appertains to the intuition and wisdom of
every individual “ Gnostic ” to distil from these principles
personal self-knowledge or Self-Gnosis.
Gnostic Anthropology
The aim and ideal of Gnostic Anthropology is to rediscover the
primeval truth, the primeval wisdom, uncoloured by any particular
creed, and to give it again to humanity. Gnostic Anthropology is
able to penetrate to the essence of various religions because its
attention is on the seed of primeval wisdom contained in each one of
them.
Gnostic Instructors
Teach on a voluntary basis, following the example set by the
founder of the contemporary Gnostic movement; Samael Aun Weor, who
renounced personal income from the sale of his books and the giving
of lectures.
Gnostic Instructors must have studied Gnostic Anthropology for a
number of years as well as participating in an intensive Gnostic
Instructors course to be eligible to teach Gnosis. Gnostic Centres
and Schools are autonomous and have no political or religious
affiliations. Our purpose is simply to teach Gnostic wisdom and
systems of study and meditation for the physical, psychological and
inner development of the whole human being.
